EPB of Chattanooga, Tennessee has been a proven leader in their community since the company began in 1935. In 2009, EPB ran 1 gigabyte of fiber throughout their 600-mile footprint, offering incredible data speed to their current and potential customers. When EPB contracted with ESE Networks to form a ground-breaking partnership in 2012, they formed their own subsidiary, CityStream. This allowed EPB to become a self-sustained broadcasting network.
The setup allowed EPB to broadcast live and archive local content for their viewing audience (174,000 customers). Contracts were set up with local Chattanooga high schools– all content is being produced by these schools and is offering the individual schools an option for new revenue as well.
Utilizing an ESE network, EPB now has the capability to broadcast live and archive local content that is produced and placed on the network for on-demand viewing anywhere, anytime, across a wide variety of devices (smart phones, tablets, computers, etc). This has proven to be a significant tool for community building, relationship marketing, and company branding.
